This was addressed off-list.  I thought the Community list tolerated HTML code,
but there was no readily found example (it all looked plain to me even if
changing my email client to display HTML).

Hi Marion,

Email for the main CR Society list is converted to plain text regardless of how
it is sent.  The archives are in an HTML format (technically):

http://www.calorierestriction.org/archive/list.php?2

Although the posts still look like plain text, it may handle links better and
your visual display and text size is as set by your browser.
