Hi Meta,

My off-list message is below. People can be hard to
placate and that goes triple for large groups of people.

PS: Thank you Liza for the kind words yesterday.

Hi Mary Elyn,

Regarding the 'brouhaha', there ought never have been one and I
had already expressed my concerns off-list regarding Conrad's
message:
http://lists.calorierestriction.org/pipermail/cr_lists.calorierestriction.org/2007-May/005223.html

I and our other moderator read and intercept a lot of posts prior
to list distribution but far from all (there isn't enough time in the
day). IMO, Conrad's post was not topical and any concerns
should have gone through other channels.

That said, we have declined your message as off-topic:
http://www.calorierestriction.org/node/130

Without going into details, some small action has been taking to
try and keep the list from going on the above linked tangent.
Clearly, ideas ought to be judged on their merits.

There are two other CRS lists. There is the Community list
which is more open topically, friendlier (hopefully), but often
just as skeptical. Lastly, we have the Meta list where list
policies and management issues get discussed to hopefully make
it a better list for all:
http://lists.calorierestriction.org/mailman/listinfo

Don't worry about causing any offense and it is my hope none
was taking by you from the words of some posters.

-Tim C.
